Qualifications

Job description
  • Prepare, draft, and review contract negotiations for all business areas.
  • Ensure legally robust and compliant with the latest legislation.
  • Drive collaboration with various stakeholders locally and globally, ensuring that legal matters are effectively and efficiently managed.
  • You will maintain the electronic management of all agreements, keeping the Finance team updated.
  • Corporate matters
  • Provide guidance and support on corporate organizational legal matters.
  • Prepare, draft and review corporate legal documentation such as bank resolutions, corporate reorganizations, change of officers / directors and other tasks.
  • Maintain the North America Directors and Officers Listing is up to date and required filings have been completed.
  • Counsel business leaders on day-to-day requests regarding corporate legal matters.
  • Notarize legal documents as required.
  • Writes, reviews and advises on legal contracts and agreements.
  • Advises leadership on tax matters, government regulations, and / or legal rights.
  • Partner with the HR Compliance Manager on highly sensitive employment issues.

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Ideally, degree qualified with at least 5+ years post qualification experience in commercial law OR equivalent experience relevant to the role
  • Recent experience of working for a law firm or in house legal department
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with corporate law and commercial law in both Canada and US
  • Able to work independently, prioritize and manage large complex workloads to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and commitment to accommodate additional work demands as required
  • Current member of a law society in Canada or US

Job Location : The preferred location of the successful candidate will be Vancouver, British Columbia. Potential flexibility for the role to be North America remote dependent on business needs
