Job summary

A local caregiving agency in Montreal is seeking a full-time in-home caregiver for a family with young children. The role involves supervising and caring for the newborn and children aged 2 to 5, assisting the mother with daily activities, and performing general housework. Applicants must have at least one year of caregiving experience and a high school diploma. Knowledge of French or English is required.

In-home caregiver – private home – JeRe… family

Terms of employment- This job is for a full-time position (40 hours per week). Flexible / Split shift work schedule is required. Weekend work may be required. French or English. Job start date is February 1, 2026

Language requirement: French or English.

Salary- Wage offered is between $17 and $19 per hour. Future wage adjustments will be made when the provincial minimum wage rate changes.

Location- JeRe… lives in the city of Westmount, in Montreal, Quebec. The home is situated in a residential neighbourhood, school and parks are nearby. The city bus is easily accessible and is close by (bus #24) The major intersection is Wood + Sherbrooke St.

Duties may include:

1. This job is to help with the care of a newborn, a 2 year old, a 4 year old and a 5 yr old, and the children’s mother. The mother suffers from a chronic medical condition.
2. Supervision of children when parents are not at home, and take the child to and from appointments
3. Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings to provide amusement and exercise
4. Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
5. Bathe and dress children as needed. Change diapers of the newborn, and prepare youngest children for naps
6. Help mother with tasks basic activities of daily living,
7. General housework that will include doing, laundry and some ironing and dusting rooms to ensure a clean environment

Qualifications

3. Must have at least one year of work-related experience as a caregiver.
4. Must be dependable, hardworking, independent, and able to manage the job without supervision.
5. Experience with young babies is an asset
