Job summary

Overview

The position is responsible for facilitating all key HR functions and programs including recruitment, employee relations, employee benefits, and performance management with the objective of contributing towards the efficient service delivery by the HR department.

Accountabilities
  • Actively engage with employees and assist on HR matters while ensuring strict confidentiality when handling sensitive issues.
  • Maintains HR records by keeping accurate, up to date employee files including contracts, performancereviewsand benefits forms.
  • Maintains the human resources information system (HRIS).
  • Provides recruitment support for managers and leaders by assisting in creating job postings, conducting interviews, referencechecks and issuing job offers.
  • Leads delivery of New Hire Orientation and coordinates other steps in the onboarding process.
  • Tracks expiration dates for work contracts and permits and follows up on renewals to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Assists the HR team in scheduling interviews and training sessions.
  • Assists the HR Manager in periodic review of HR policies and in publishing HR dashboards.
  • Ensures the employee handbook is kept up to date by making revisionsasnew policies and procedures come into effect.
  • Reviews and maintains the HR intranet site.
  • Conducts and documents exit interviews and ensures all offboarding formalities are completed.
  • Undertakes special assignments or projects as assigned by Director, Human Resources.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 2 years HR related experience.
  • Experience developing and delivering human resources initiatives.
  • Knowledge of human resources (recruitment and retention, performance management & employee relations) principles, policies, and practices.
  • Knowledge of BC Employment Standards & BC Human Rights Code.
  • Experience developing Job Descriptions, HR policies and organizing training and orientation sessions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of UKG or Workday HRIS is preferred
  • CPHR designation preferred
  • Superior oral and written communication
Provisos
  • Occasional weekend availability is necessary to ensure comprehensive HR support for our operation, which runs seven days a week.
Salary Range

$22 to $32 per hour
