Flynn Group of Companies, North America’s leading building envelope contractor is looking for a HR & Payroll Systems Analyst to work at our Mississauga location.

The HR & Payroll Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting and maintaining SAP Employee Central (EC) and SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) for the organization. They will provide advisory services, technical guidance and support to internal customers on the operation and maintenance of EC and ECP. One of the main responsibilities includes staying up to date with current system releases, developing and implementing strategies to address problem areas with the payroll solution including implementing continuous improvement strategies. Individuals must work well in a team setting to meet objectives in a timely manner; however, individuals also need to be able to perform effectively with minimal supervision.

This position will be part of IT department and reporting to the HRIS-Payroll Systems Manager.

A Day in the Life
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders for requirements gathering, utilize and adopt the established test processes and procedures, test documents, templates and test tools in implementing all test activities.
  • Participate in preparatory meetings with stakeholders and with the reporting manager, where the Test Strategy, Test Plan, and the objectives of the test process are set.
  • Involved in work sessions where design documents are developed to gain a full understanding of project scope and requirements, ensuring they are adequately documented and represented for their translation into test materials (test scenarios, test cases).
  • Management and triage of issue/defects related to HR and Payroll, ensuring troubleshooting and investigation of day-to-day issues so that they are addressed/resolved and communicated back to the business.
  • Provide time sensitive support to the HR and Payroll team during weekly pay processing.
  • Work with stakeholders to intake, document and resolve SAP and Workforce issues tracked within our work management tool.
  • Maintain positive relationships with appropriate HR, IT, Finance/Payroll, Management, and Administration teams.
  • Off hours support as required.
Testing
  • Perform Payroll or HR testing on ongoing issues that may impact integrations with other Custom and Enterprise Applications to maintain system integrity across system environments.
  • Develop, implement and document all testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, defect tracking and reporting (including follow-up and issue resolution) for both HR & Payroll issues.
  • Assist in Testing Release notes.
  • Reviewing and evaluating requirements and design documentation to develop detailed test strategies and comprehensive test documentation. Use this documentation to perform testing for assigned application systems and report the progress of testing tasks to the Reporting Manager.
Documentation and Processes
  • Attend work sessions where design documents are developed for existing documents and new processes.
  • Develop and maintain end user and functional specification documentation.
  • Collaborate with HR and/or the Payroll team and other business functions to design/maintain processes that will improve overall effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain a business process for users to submit enhancement suggestions related to payroll.
What are we seeking
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with SAP Payroll or UltiPro or Workday or ADP
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supporting and/or processing Payroll and Human Resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Human Resources Management, or related discipline required.
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Strong customer service focus with demonstrated skills in supporting users to address issues and concerns.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required (VLOOKUP, pivots).
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn and use a variety of software applications such as JIRA, Confluence, Zendesk.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-project environment with shifting priorities, and the ability to reassess and reprioritize competing business needs.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with objectivity and discretion, high personal standard of integrity.
