Overview

We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented, and professional housekeepers to join our team and contribute to the upkeep of our healthcare facilities. This role is essential to fostering a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff, thereby supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional quality care and preserving our strong organizational reputation. The transitional care cleaner must consistently demonstrate competence in executing all duties and responsibilities outlined in this description and in accordance to the provincial regulatory body and any organization-specific goals and expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff, in accordance with provincial regulatory requirements and organization-specific goals.
  • Follow IPAC protocols and perform environmental cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, waste removal, restroom sanitation, and discharge cleaning.
Shift details
  • Availability required for Days, Evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • 8 hour shifts : 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites and have access to a reliable vehicle is required
Job Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1) year of housekeeping or janitorial experience in a healthcare setting
  • Completion of Home Support Program or secondary school diploma preferred
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrate understanding and adherence to infection prevention and control (IPAC) protocols, with competence in a range of environmental cleaning tasks (e.g., sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, waste removal, restroom sanitation, and discharge cleaning)
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding the confidentiality of client and corporate information
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach repeatedly throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform repetitive tasks
  • Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Diligence in reporting health and safety, any damages, shortages, or unusual occurrences to supervisory personnel
