Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized two‑year program in Food Service and Nutrition Management.
  • One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Food Safe Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises designated staff by scheduling and co‑ordinating work assignments.
  • Plans menus and develops recipes according to nutritional and therapeutic diet needs.
  • Estimates food requirements and orders supplies.
  • Visits patients/residents to obtain diet‑related information.
  • Monitors expenditures for assigned areas and makes budget recommendations.
  • Ensures quality standards are maintained.
  • Coordinates community‑based services such as Meals on Wheels.
  • Maintains cafeteria services and secures money upon closure.
  • Performs audits to ensure food service standards are met.
