Job summary

A leading equipment service provider in Grande Prairie is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to troubleshoot and repair Gas Compression equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining customer service commitments and ensuring safety on-site. The role requires a Journeyperson certification and strong mechanical skills, with the added benefit of field service experience being an asset. This position primarily involves fieldwork and travel throughout Alberta and NWT.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal) required.

Job Description

Job Functions

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, overhaul and repair equipment related to Gas Compression & Energy Power Generation: natural gas & diesel engines, compressors, generators and attachments
• Maintain Finning’s Customer Service Commitments, interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Various related duties as required

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal)
• Demonstrated experience with all makes of Gas Compression equipment (G3500/G3600 A4 an asset)
• Dedication to safety
• Completion or in the process of completing Finning S-Level courses
• Solid organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work independently, without supervision often in remote locations.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with commissioning is considered an asset
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Gas Compression and Well Servicing experience is an asset
• Previous field service experience and experience with natural gas engines and compressors would be considered assets
• Non-Caterpillar experience such as Waukesha, Ariel, Cummins, etc is recognized as an asset
• NOTE:
• Travel is required throughout Alberta and NWT
• Preference for candidate locations are Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Grande Prairie
• This position will be primarily field based
• Training and experience in gas compression is an asset
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
