Overview

Chez Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, nous cherchons sans relâche à repousser les limites de la performance de culture.

This position is at our Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB site. You will perform a variety of tasks, including preventive maintenance and repairs to rolling-stock (tractors, loaders, forklifts, trucks and implements). Your work includes: oil & filter changes; welding & fabrication; basic 12 & 24 volt electrical troubleshooting & installation; hydraulic hose repair; etc.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rolling stock (tractors, loaders, forklifts, trucks and implements).
  • Execute oil & filter changes; welding & fabrication; basic 12 & 24 volt electrical troubleshooting & installation; hydraulic hose repair; and related tasks.
Qualifications
  • Be a licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic OR be a recognized apprentice in the trade OR demonstrate proficiency and experience in the trade.
  • Meet minimum performance standards, including pre-employment testing (theory and practical).
  • Be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; climb safely in and out of heavy equipment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team; maintain a neat, safe work environment.
  • Be able to speak, read and write in English and communicate effectively.
  • Be able to work in a noisy, dusty environment and in cold and hot conditions; tolerate overtime and possible weekend work.
  • Provide a CPIC (Criminal Record) Check. Note: This is NOT a requirement for current Scotts Associates.
Schedule and Compensation

Normal shifts during production season are 7:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, with compulsory overtime coinciding with bog operations (weather-dependent), which could extend into evenings or weekends. Double-time pay on Sundays. Bilingualism is an asset, but not a requirement.

  • Wages determined by Collective Agreement ($24.02 to $28.82, depending on ability, training and experience).

  • This is a UNIONIZED position.
