Job summary

Permanent employment – Full time

Job Description
  • Check dozers, loaders, tractor trailers, dump trucks and other heavy equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Service attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, winches and side booms.
Skills & Experience Required
  • English speaking and French (optional)
  • Journeyperson with valid red seal license.
  • Organized, good with paperwork and used to a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license minimum class 5 with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Own tools would be an asset
  • Work in the field and Whitehorse, willingness to work in adverse weather conditions and travel to remote sites.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.
