Position Overview

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Health & Safety Administrator will play a key role in managing safety documentation, supporting COR audit readiness, and maintaining compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and ACSA COR standards.

This is a primarily office-based role suited to a highly organized professional with strong construction safety administration experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Safety Administration & Compliance
  • Administer and maintain BAAC's Health & Safety Management System
  • Organize and control all safety documentation, including:
  • Policies, procedures, SWPs, and SOPs
  • Hazard assessments (PHA, FLRA, JHA)
  • Incident and near-miss reports
  • Safety statistics and reporting
  • Training records and certifications
  • Ensure documentation aligns with Alberta OHS legislation and COR requirements
COR Program Support
  • Support ongoing COR program maintenance and audit readiness
  • Assist with internal audits, gap tracking, and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate COR records and documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to COR compliance
Training & Records Management
  • Track employee training, certifications, and expiry dates
  • Coordinate safety orientations and required training
  • Maintain accurate training matrices and records
Reporting & Communication
  • Prepare safety reports, summaries, and metrics for management
  • Support supervisors and management with safety documentation
  • Assist with client safety documentation and pre-qualification submissions
General Support
  • Assist with onboarding safety orientations for new hires
  • Support the Health & Safety Coordinator and Health & Safety Manager
  • Contribute to safety initiatives and administrative projects
  • Occasional site or office travel may be required
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of construction safety administrative experience
  • Must reside in Calgary or surrounding area
  • Completion of all four ACSA COR Auditor Courses:
  • Principles of Health & Safety Management (PHSM)
  • Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE)
  • Alberta OHS Legislation Awareness (LEG)
  • Auditor Training Program (ATP)
  • Strong working knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and digital safety systems
  • Reliable transportation for commuting and occasional site visits
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred Assets
  • Experience in civil, industrial, or construction environments
  • Familiarity with SITE DOCS, Workhub, and Microsoft Teams
  • Previous experience supporting COR audits
  • Safety designations such as NHSA
