Qualifications

  • Certified Personal Trainer or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years experience in a club or fitness setting.
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

  • Facilitate group exercise classes both in-person and online.

Job Overview

Reporting directly to the Head of Fitness & Program Development, the Fitness Floor Coach plays a key role in delivering an exceptional member experience by providing guidance and support on the gym floor, promoting fitness programs and services, facilitating group classes, and designing personalized workout plans. This role also assists with front desk operations, conducts fitness assessments and orientations, and helps maintain a safe, welcoming, and energized environment for all members.

Specific duties would include, but are not limited to:

  • Coach and supervise the gym floor.
  • Assist with gym front desk reception duties as required.
  • Promote fitness events, classes and personal training to members.
  • Help to facilitate group exercise classes both in person and online via Zoom.
  • Design customized fitness programs for members.
  • Conduct fitness appraisals and gym orientations.
  • Perform punctual opening and closing of the facility following appropriate security procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings.
Job Qualifications
  • Certified Personal Trainer / Fitness Instructor (CanFitPro, CPTN, ACE, NASM, ACSM or equivalent)
  • Current First Aid & CPR (AED preferred)
  • 1–2 years experience in a fitness or club environment
  • Strong exercise knowledge and equipment safety awareness
  • Excellent communication and member engagement skills
  • Professional, energetic, and approachable
  • Able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
