A national law enforcement agency is seeking a Financial Accountant in London to take ownership of financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS 16 standards. This role involves liaising with auditors, delivering insightful reports, and driving improvements in financial processes. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications, extensive experience in financial accounting, and technical expertise. Salary: £55,310.87
Contract Type: FTC -12-month Maternity cover
Location: To be based at one of our main hubs London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds or Glasgow. An additional London Allowance of £4,613.61 payable to London based candidates only.
Type of Working Arrangement: Blended approach of home and office-working is available, with occasional travel to London required.

Join BTP as a Financial Accountant and play a key role in shaping our financial integrity and performance.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of preparing financial statements, quarterly accounts, and ad hoc reports, ensuring our financial control environment remains robust and effective. You’ll collaborate closely with auditors, deliver clear and insightful reports to the Audit and Risk Committee, implement audit recommendations, and provide technical accounting expertise to both the finance team and wider business areas.
You’ll lead on IFRS 16 compliance for estates lease accounting, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting improvements in related processes across the organisation.

What you’ll bring to the team:
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge and practical experience in IFRS 16 accounting standards, with expertise in lease and estates recognition, measurement, reporting, and forecasting.
