Job summary

A leading logistics and healthcare supply chain company located in Montreal is seeking a Field Services Technician. The role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware, and managing software platforms. Candidates should have a degree in computer science or equivalent experience, along with mandatory bilingual skills in English and French. The position is fully onsite, and it's essential to assist staff with IT issues while maintaining a courteous demeanor. This is a full-time role with a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday.

This Logistics and Healthcare Supply Chain industry leader in Montreal is looking for a Field Services Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Here are the responsibilities for this Field Services Technician at this Logistics and Healthcare Supply Chain leader in Montreal:
  • Technical Support & Resolution: Serve as the line of support for all IT issues within the area, providing 2nd level support including research and resolution for technical problems. Respond to tickets, calls, and face-to-face requests.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair technical infrastructure including desktops, laptops, RF guns, thermal printers, and MacOS devices.
  • Software & OS Support: Manage and support Windows desktop platforms in an Active Directory environment, including MS Office Suite and vendor critical security patches.
  • Asset & Vendor Management: Manage infrastructure assets (software licenses, keys, hardware leases, inventory) and serve as the IT Liaison to external partners and vendors for break/fix and maintenance.
  • User Assistance: Work to assist staff to resolve technical issues and provide courteous, knowledgeable assistance, ensuring appropriate usage of information systems.
Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 1 year in a help desk/field services support role (1-2 years preferred).

  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows platforms, Active Directory, and MS Office (specifically Outlook configuration/Exchange).
  • Hardware Knowledge: Familiarity with LAN/WAN/Wireless, and ability to troubleshoot specific hardware like RF guns and thermal printers.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry computers, monitors, and printers, and ability to move about to accomplish tasks (walking, standing, stairs).
  • Systems: Familiarity with systems of record, preferably ServiceNow.
