Job summary

A leading equipment rental supplier is looking for a Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Field Mechanic to manage repairs and maintenance independently at job sites. This role offers a 7 on, 7 off schedule with camp living accommodations. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, and maintaining organized work areas. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of experience, relevant certifications, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

At least 3 years' hands-on experience repairing aerial equipment
Able to work 7 on, 7 off alone on site
Valid Class 5 driver's license

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Are you a skilled Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Field Mechanic ready to take on a rewarding solo role? Join us at Mount Bracey, where you will independently manage repairs and maintenance in a dynamic environment. This 7 on, 7 off position offers the convenience of camp living with meals provided, allowing you to focus on your expertise and make a real impact.

What you will do…

Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long term customer job sites
Oversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services
Diagnose and repair heavy equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition at the job site
Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and propane systems
Recondition and replace assorted parts to return equipment to a safely functioning state
Educating customers on proper use of equipment to avoid future breakdowns
Analyze problem areas for any significant wear or tear and address to ensure proper usage of the equipment until your next scheduled visit
Adhere to all safety guidelines posted at active jobsite where repairs and maintenance are completed
Maintain work area on jobsite in a clean and organized manner
Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs
Follow all company's filed procedures and protocols
Build positive relationships with customers
Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Journeyman Off Road Certification or HET Red‑Seal in Heavy Duty.

A clean and recent driving record will be requested.

Pay Range: $54.00‑$55.00 per hour plus a $5,000 sign‑on bonus. Please be advised that the actual salary offered for any position is subject to the company's sole discretion and may be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, location, and overall fit for the role.
