Qualifications

Do you work from a trauma informed approach and have an interest in facilitating play and parent groups to provide goal setting supports, information and community connections for families?

The Family Support Worker provides support, information, advocacy, and community connections to families. This role delivers both virtual and in‑person parent groups, conducts home visits, and collaborates closely with a multi‑disciplinary team. Using a case‑management and wraparound approach, the Family Support Worker contributes to positive outcomes for children and families.

What You Bring To The Team
  • Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Ecology, or Child and Youth Care.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with preschool‑aged children.
  • Experience working with socially, economically, and / or culturally diverse children and their families.
  • Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Proof of vehicle insurance, registration, and a 3‑year driver’s abstract.
Important Work You Will Do at e4c
  • Schedule and perform home visitations with families in support of identifying and reaching their goals.
  • Deliver developmental screenings on children while providing appropriate referrals and supports to families.
  • Coordinate and facilitate play and parent groups based upon developmental needs.
  • Work with the multi‑disciplinary team to provide wrap around communication supports for children.
  • De‑brief and consult with program partners, inter‑agency members and other community stakeholders to network and establish collaborative partnerships.
  • Input and manage case documentation on School Cloud database.
