Your opportunity

This position provides specialized analytical and strategic support to the Office of the Vice‑Principal, Academic & Dean (OVPAD), with a focus on advancing initiatives within the portfolio of the Associate Dean, Academic Experience. The Experiential Education Unit (EEU) supports the academic mission of the University of Toronto Mississauga by enhancing undergraduate education through the development and delivery of innovative, high‑impact experiential learning opportunities that connect classroom learning with practical experience. Reporting to the Director, Experiential Education & Community Engagement, the Experiential Learning Data Analyst contributes to the advancement of divisional priorities by providing robust data analysis, research insights, and evidence‑based recommendations to inform planning, policy development, and program enhancement across experiential learning initiatives.

The incumbent is responsible for designing and executing research projects that address complex qualitative and quantitative questions related to experiential learning participation, student outcomes, and program effectiveness. They will develop and maintain data visualization tools, dashboards, and performance indicators to support informed decision‑making and the assessment of institutional priorities The role includes preparing comprehensive reports, presentations, and analytics briefs for senior leadership as well as contributing to research proposals and grant applications. The Experiential Learning Data Analyst will also examine and synthesize data related to emerging trends across programs to support innovation and continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with academic units and campus partners, the Experiential Learning Data Analyst will translate data findings into actionable insights that strengthen the quality and impact of experiential learning across the campus.

Your responsibilities will include
  • Assessing and determining methodologies for data retrieval and manipulation
  • Developing and maintaining a dashboard for quick access to key performance indicators
  • Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected
  • Analyzing market data to determine trends and effectiveness of programs and initiatives
  • Making recommendations on suitability of major system refinements and upgrades
  • Designing presentations of data analysis findings
  • Updating and maintaining documented queries, analyses and reports
  • Researching, analyzing and recommending solutions to project challenges
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas: Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Science or Economics. Master’s Degree, particularly in Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Data Analysis, Statistical Analysis, or Institutional Research in a postsecondary institution.
  • Advanced proficiency with data tools such as Excel (advanced), PowerBI, Tableau, or comparable platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large, complex data sets related to course enrolments, program participation, or experiential learning.
  • Experience developing interactive dashboards and visual analytics to support data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Proven track record of designing and conducting evaluations, surveys, and assessments for academic programs.
  • Experience collaborating with academic departments and institutional data offices to align data strategies and ensure data integrity.
  • Experience with data management systems and student information systems (e.g., ROSI, Quercus, CRM or experiential learning management platforms).
  • Advanced data analysis and visualization skills
  • Superior quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities
