What Youll Be Doing

As part of CIBC's Global Markets business, the Wealth Solutions Group delivers innovative capital markets products and solutions to clients across Canada and around the world. As Head of Retail Sales, youll lead the distribution of all our products marketed to CIBC's Retail Banking network. Youll set strategic and budget goals, provide overall leadership and direction to the business, and manage executive-level relationships within the Retail Bank network. Youll also oversee daily business activities, support talent management, and ensure all operations meet CIBC's policy and risk standards. Youre comfortable operating at an executive level, building strong relationships, and driving results in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

How Youll Succeed
  • Strategy – Develop and execute a forward-thinking sales strategy for distributing Global Markets products across CIBC's Retail Bank channels, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Use client feedback, data analytics, and digital trends to identify priorities and drive business growth.
  • Innovation – Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging idea generation to enhance operational processes and team productivity. Identify and implement innovative solutions that address evolving client and market needs.
  • Relationship Management – Build and manage executive-level relationships within the Retail Bank network to promote and expand our business. Deepen client engagement to grow share of wallet and contribute to profitability by winning and retaining client business.
  • Leadership & Talent Management – Inspire and lead a high-performing team by providing clear direction, impactful communication, and strategic product positioning. Motivate, develop, and retain top talent, fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment that supports professional growth and team success.
  • Market Intelligence – Monitor and analyze market activities, sales data, and economic trends to inform business decisions and guide future growth. Leverage market and client insights to anticipate opportunities, drive innovation, and maintain a competitive edge.
Who You Are

You have attained a university degree and can exhibit at least 10 years of experience in sales, trading, or business management, including five years leading teams. You bring a strong understanding of capital markets, tax, legal and regulatory environments, and broad knowledge of financial and wealth products.

You have passed CSC and CPH exams.

You are a strategic thinker who excels at developing and executing strategic plans, spotting trends, and seizing new opportunities.

You are a natural people leader with proven leadership, team-building, and relationship management skills.

You can demonstrate strong communication skills; you communicate complex ideas clearly, both in person and to large audiences.

You are a curious problem solver who is always looking for solutions and thinking ahead.
