Hi! I’m Leena Yousefi, founder of YLaw, a multi-award winning and the largest family law firm in Western Canada.
I’m also the creator of The Split, a legal-tech app that’s changing the way people approach separation and divorce.
Between running a firm, developing software, attending speaking engagements, and raising a family with 3 little kids, life is fast-moving and exciting. I’m looking for an Executive Assistant who can help me stay organized, focused, and creative.
In this role you’ll be challenged in a good way: you’ll work directly with me on a variety of professional, creative, and personal projects. I am a fast thinker, have an insatiable need for speed and several projects on the go at any time.
I am not very good with organization, systems and details. This is where I could use your help!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing a highly complex calendar and scheduling meetings, events, and speaking engagements
- Running some of my projects if you are up for the challenge
- Loving tech and AI
- Booking travel, accommodations, and handling logistics
- Running personal errands such as booking appointments, arranging childcare pickups, and organizing dry cleaning or events
- Creating and managing social media content and helping with light marketing tasks, especially for The Split app
- Keeping the office organized and helping with special projects or tasks for the wider team
- Assisting with internal communications and staying on top of follow-ups and reminders
Who You Are
- Someone who loves change, will roll up their sleeves and do what is needed to keep it going - not a "I am too good for this" personality
- Creative but disciplined, artistic taste is always a plus, and of course thick skin
- Background in marketing would be an asset as I do a lot of the firm’s marketing and am passionate about it. Would need help with some SEO, social media posts, website maintenance, content, etc
- Exceptionally organized and reliable under pressure. I am ADHD, so you will need to probably be the opposite
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Canva, social media platforms, and basic SEO or marketing tools
- Open minded: I speak my mind and love opposing views and debates, so if you are offended easily we probably won’t last
- Comfortable working with a busy and high-expectation leader while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude
- Someone who truly cares about doing good work and contributing to something really great
What You’ll Have
- A chance to work side-by-side with a recognized leader in law and innovation
- Involvement in creative and meaningful projects that impact peoples' lives
- A warm, inclusive, and professional culture where your ideas are respected no matter how different
- Flexibility, trust, growth opportunities, and the chance to build something great together
How to Apply
Please send your resume along with a short cover letter to careers@ylaw.ca explaining why this role speaks to you. If you want to stand out, feel free to include :
- A system or hack you use to stay organized
- A piece of content or project you’ve created that you’re proud of
Looking forward to hearing from you, Leena.
