Our client is a highly successful Canadian multidisciplinary professional services firm that delivers a comprehensive array of technical and strategic services, including consulting, information technology, engineering, process development, and project and construction management to various industrial markets.

Scope of Position

Our client’s Environmental Group manages ecological and social responsibility projects. The firm is currently seeking a highly capable individual to manage its activities in Western Canada. This is an excellent career opportunity for someone with extensive experience in environmental community interface and/or sustainability issues and projects, who is looking to take the next step in their career. The firm’s wealth of engineering, environmental, project delivery, and procurement experience, along with its global footprint, makes it highly differentiated in the growing environmental services market.

This person will have strong project management skills combined with client relationship management and business development capabilities. The successful candidate will be a business builder, able to leverage their network of contacts. The position will be based in Western Canada, and some travel may be required.

Functional Tasks

  1. Develop environmental services business in Western Canada, including proposal and client engagement.
  2. Identify and develop ESG-related business opportunities with clients in the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
  3. Provide project management and advisory support to teams working on mining, infrastructure, and energy projects.
  4. Offer strategic environmental management advice and services to projects and clients.
  5. Develop project schedules for delivering environmental services, such as impact assessments and management plans.
  6. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop environmental design criteria.
  7. Support project approvals with technical input.
  8. Perform environmental risk assessments and communicate findings to project teams.
  9. Contribute to performance reporting for the Environmental Services Group in the region.
  10. Coordinate with global peers as needed.

  • Experience in major EPCM projects.

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental engineering, science, or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of managing and delivering environmental or sustainable development activities on large projects.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
