Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Planner / Project Manager to join our Assessment and Permitting team within the Environmental Services practice, working within one of our London, Waterloo, Markham, Hamilton, or Ottawa offices. You will join a team that delivers expertise to a wide variety of sectors.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project tasks and deliverables, and assist with implementing the environmental assessment and permitting process as it applies to projects.
  • Conduct field and desktop studies in support of regulatory requirements, and develop and implement consultation programs.
  • Communicate and liaise with a variety of project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, members of the public, and internal multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Write and coordinate proposals and reports tailored to specific project requirements.

  • Previous experience in undertaking tasks such as the Class EA process, the TPAP process, environmental impact assessments, and coordinating the acquisition of permits and approvals
Education and Experience

A university degree or post‑undergraduate college diploma in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field is required.
Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental program and project development, implementation, and management, with a focus on infrastructure projects.

Preferred Qualifications and Assets:

  • Membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, OAIA, or ECO Canada EP designation
  • Consulting experience
  • Expertise in community consultations
  • Project management experience, maintaining billable work, and ensuring successful project deliveries

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
