A leading mining company is seeking a part-time Environmental Data Officer to manage compliance and rehabilitation data. Part Time opportunity - 3 days per week

Are you passionate about environmental stewardship, data accuracy and supporting sustainable exploration? Join Fortescue’s Exploration Approvals and Compliance (EAC) team and play a vital role in how we manage rehabilitation and compliance across our exploration activities.

This part-time position offers the opportunity to support a high-performing team responsible for securing approvals, ensuring tenement compliance, and upholding Fortescue’s commitment to responsible exploration.

As ourEnvironmental Data Officer, you will help centralise and manage rehabilitation and compliance data for the EAC team. You’ll work across multiple teams to ensure all environmental and tenement obligations are accurately tracked, reported and closed out.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing rehabilitation data and ensuring accurate, high-quality information is stored and maintained
  • Coordinating rehabilitation reporting and liaising with the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE)
  • Working closely with field and geology teams to ensure timely data submission
  • Integrating spatial data, producing maps and supporting compliance checks
  • Assisting with database management, imports/exports and general housekeeping
  • Helping develop training materials for internal stakeholders
  • Supporting broader compliance initiatives within the EAC team
Qualifications and Experience
  • Interest in environmental practices in mining or exploration
  • Experience in auditing/compliance is highly regarded
  • Understanding of WA Mining Act obligations and rehabilitation practices (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with databases and data storage tools (acQuire, Excel)
  • Confident stakeholder liaison and communication
  • Data management and accuracy focus
