A Snapshot of Your Day
This is a contract position for an Engineering Configuration Technician, lasting 6-12 months.
What You’ll Do
- Offer administrative and technical configuration support to Research & Development (R&D) organization.
- Manage & oversee procurement, control and movement of development gas turbine engine hardware via the ERP (SAP) system.
- Coordinate with major stakeholders (finance, supply chain, warehouse, etc.) all activities (plant extension, valuation type allocation, etc.) to achieve successful introduction of new parts into ERP (SAP) system.
- Offer administrative support to Manufacturing Configuration Team.
- Review & provide configuration data for engineering solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Produce engineering instructions for development activities in response to engineering requirements under the guidance of Engineering Configuration Specialist.
- Support configuration specialists by undertaking daily configuration tasks (producing modification documentation, Scheme review, etc.).
- Perform maintenance of the BOMs (error checking and correction, adjustments as dictated by configuration specialists) in support of normal maintenance or special projects.
- Administer day-to-day maintenance of engineering and configuration data to / from relevant systems.
- Under the guidance of the engineering configuration specialists or product structure controllers, perform special maintenance or processing activities of data within the relevant engineering systems.
- Participate in any organizational or management activity that is carried-out in support of engineering work.
What You Bring
- Technical Diploma (DEC) in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
- Minimum 0-3 years’ experience.
- Organizational relationships – responsible for delivery of the development configuration instructions to support build program on allocated engines.
- Cope with pressure arising from changing circumstances and apply lessons learned from experience. Self-motivated & intuitive.
- Implement identified change quickly.
- Computer skills – ability to navigate through common software such as Microsoft and more specialized software such as SAP Atlas and PLM (TeamCenter).
- Good knowledge of French. This position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with international colleagues.
