Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract.
  • Reliable, safe vehicle with appropriate insurance for transporting individuals.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist persons served with daily living activities and health care.
  • Work with various community and health services to support individuals.
  • Demonstrate tolerance and respect for supported individuals.

Skills

Experience working with youth or adults with complex behaviors
Strong conflict resolution
Crisis prevention and intervention techniques
Experience with trauma informed practices

Education

Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Work, Human Services, Education, Sociology or Psychology

Tools

Current WCB Occupational First Aid, Level 1 and CPR certificates
Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate and/or MANDT
