About the Role

The Embryologist is responsible for performing complex laboratory procedures related to diagnostic and therapeutic reproductive services. This role requires proficiency in advanced embryology techniques, strict adherence to quality standards, and close collaboration with clinical and laboratory teams to ensure the highest level of care and accuracy.

This position reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and plays a key role in maintaining laboratory integrity, regulatory compliance, and excellence in patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform embryology laboratory procedures including ICSI, micromanipulation, embryo and oocyte vitrification, semen analysis, sperm freezing, embryo biopsy, and cryopreservation
  • Handle gametes and embryos with the highest level of precision and care
  • Maintain cryogenic storage systems and nitrogen tanks
  • Assist with andrology services as needed
  • Ensure all procedures follow established SOPs and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in EMR and laboratory systems
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and cleanliness standards
  • Participate in annual embryo storage audits
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff
  • Liaise with external centres regarding treatment coordination and specimen transfers
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients when required
  • Rotate on weekend and holiday shifts as part of the laboratory schedule
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an embryology laboratory with hands‑on IVF and ICSI experience
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations and best practices
  • Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • High level of accuracy, reliability, and accountability
  • Proficient in MS Office and virtual platforms (Zoom/Teams)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
