Job summary

A partner company in Canada is looking for an Electrician to maintain and repair electrical systems. Responsibilities include installing, replacing lighting fixtures, testing circuits, and conducting preventive maintenance. Candidates must have a secondary school education, complete an apprenticeship, and possess 2-3 years of relevant experience. Strong comprehension of technical schematics is essential. Applications from candidates with zero English skills will not be considered.

  • A minimum of two or three years of experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts.
  • Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors.
  • Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
  • Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control equipment.
  • Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components.
  • Test continuity of circuits using test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate faults in systems.
  • Connect electrical power to communication equipment and devices.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep records.

Responsibilitites
  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
  • Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors
  • Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment
  • Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels
  • Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits
  • Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, following installation, replacement, or repair
  • Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components
  • Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signalling devices and heating and cooling systems
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
