Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to lead and support the design, installation, and commissioning of packaging equipment. This role involves programming PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems, as well as working with an Electrical Designer to develop BOMs and schematics. Responsibilities include overseeing equipment assembly, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating across departments to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

KRA 1 – Control System Design and Development
  • Determine Design Requirements to Meet Project Needs.
  • Gather quotes from Vendors and Release Parts
  • Develop and Manage PLC and Motion Programs for Machines
  • Develop and Manage HMI Programs for Projects
KRA 2 – System Integration and Implementation
  • Determine how to integrate 3 rd party Systems into Full Line Solutions
  • Work with 3 rd Vendors to provide solutions
  • Determine Validation Test for 3 rd Party Systems
  • Generate Documentation for 3 rd Party Systems
KRA 3 – Technical Troubleshooting
  • Diagnosing and Resolving System Issues

  • Track and Resolve Customer Support Calls

Qualifications
  • Education equivalent to a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
  • 2+ years of PLC/HMI programming experience, preferably with Allen Bradley and Siemens systems.
  • Proficiency with programming languages used in PLCs, such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram, to develop and troubleshoot control systems.
  • Proficiency in understanding electrical circuits, wiring, and components such as sensors, actuators, and relays, which are integral to control systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and basic electronic measuring devices.
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to apply engineering principles to solve problems in control systems, hardware, or software
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams. Ability to work effectively in team environments and contribute to ongoing projects.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, electrical schematics, and control system diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring that designs, programming, and documentation are accurate and meet quality standards.
  • Ability to Travel up to 15%
Desired Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation, data analysis, and presentations.
  • 2+ years of Servo motion programming experience, preferably with Allen Bradley and Siemens systems.
  • 2+ years of engineering design experience with packaging or similar types of equipment.
  • Proficiency with one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • Experience with machine vision applications, preferably with Cognex
  • Familiarity with National and International Codes, NFPA, UL508, NEC, IEC, ISA
