Overview

A proven and growing electrical contractor in Markham area is currently looking to add a focused career driven electrical coordinator/ jr. project manager to their team! This group is looking for their future leaders and you will be mentored directly by the lead senior pm! Ideally, you will have 2-4+ years of experience in the ICI contracting market, preferably with an electrical background.

The Project Coordinator will assist with the overall project performance and keep a close relationship with their mentor and the senior project manager to help ensure construction projects run smoothly on time and on budget.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering, Construction Technical Diploma and/or equivalent trade experience and knowledge
• 2-4+ years’ experience in a coordinator role, preferably electrical contracting or electrical engineering
• Working knowledge of Accubid software and AutoCAD preferred
• Basic knowledge of the construction industry
• Ability to read drawings and some exposure to design build projects is preferred
• Planning and scheduling skills
• Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
• Basic understanding of project forecasting and projections

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager to ensure project objectives are met
• Work with and ensure all health and safety policies are followed / met
• Assist in planning and preparing of construction schedules
• Monitor the jobs progress against set timelines
• Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections
• Estimate project changes and impacts
• Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs
• Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships
• Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
• Document control
• Assist in purchasing supplies and materials as required to complete projects
