The Early Years Manager will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of multiple Early Years’ contracted programs within the North Okanagan community.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees the day‑to‑day operations of multiple Early Years’ programs within the community.
  • Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates plans and programs.
  • Ensures contract deliverables are being met.
  • Ensures Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing Regulations, Risk Management requirements and general safety standards are met and followed by all staff at all times.
  • Provides leadership in accordance with Agency Vision, Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Ensures all programs are adequately staffed and can work in ratio as needed.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of staff and volunteers, including conducting interviews, selection, hiring, orientation and training.
  • Provides support in developing budgets for assigned programs, reviews financial statements and wage variance reports and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Works with supervisors to ensure that programs are responsive to individual needs of members, and behaviour plans are developed as appropriate.
  • Has access to confidential personnel files, which includes disciplinary proceedings, performance evaluations, criminal record checks, and medical records.
  • Provides support to supervisors within multiple Early Years’ programs with day‑to‑day scheduling, direction and performance feedback of program staff and volunteers.
  • Involved in writing grants and funding proposals to support program delivery.
  • Completes operational reporting to measure progress in areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Early Childhood Educator with current License to Practice and three (3) years recent related experience including one (1) year supervisory and administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of Early Years programs in the community.
  • Excellent oral, written, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License.

Hours: 35 hours per week

Rate of Pay: $59,302.00 salary, benefits and RRSP
