We are seeking a skilled and reliable structural technologist to partner with us on a flexible, as-needed basis to support our growing workload.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Structural CAD/Revit Technologist to act as a key support partner. You will work directly with our Principal Engineer, transforming engineering sketches and concepts into high-quality, accurate construction drawings.

This is a remote, independent contractor position. Work will be assigned on a project-by-project basis, making it ideal for a freelancer seeking a long-term professional relationship with a steady stream of potential work.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural drawings for buildings and other structures using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Create and modify structural models in Revit based on engineering designs.
• Produce 2D detail drawings for steel connections, concrete foundations, framing layouts, and other structural elements in AutoCAD.
• Accurately interpret hand sketches, redline markups (provided via Bluebeam PDF), and design notes from the engineer.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards and are clear, concise, and well-organized.
• Maintain clear and proactive communication regarding project progress, timelines, and any questions that arise.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications)

• Proven experience as a structural drafter, detailer, or technologist. A portfolio of relevant work is required.
• Expert-level proficiency with latest versions of Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit.
• You must own and operate a legitimate, licensed version of all required software.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and components (steel, concrete, wood, masonry).
• Experience with North American or Canadian drawing standards is a significant asset.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• A reliable internet connection and a self-managed work setup.
