The Director of Solution Delivery Wealth Management, is accountable for developing, leading, and overseeing the activities of delivery teams responsible for working with cross-functional development teams and business stakeholders to define and implement business strategies, product roadmaps, service offerings, and new features. This is a demanding hands‑on and strategic role that requires knowledge of the financial services sector and emerging trends in the Wealth and Asset Management industry.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
  • Take ownership of end‑to‑end delivery of data engineering use cases and work closely with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Participate in Data Engineering, Data Architecture strategy, medallion data hub architecture, and roadmap definition and review process.
  • Demonstrate strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services and Databricks.
  • Provide thought leadership in selecting next‑generation technologies and architecture components as per the latest trends and Scotiabank standards, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Promote a data‑first mindset across the enterprise to enable Scotiabank to become a stronger data‑driven organization.
  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate cross‑project or cross‑program dependencies while managing relationships, anticipating/mitigating risks, facilitating communications, and leading projects in an agile fashion.
  • Engage sponsoring executives and project team members, establishing trusted partnerships to ensure deliveries within scope, budget, and timelines while effectively communicating and discussing analytic insights with senior stakeholders.
  • Balance collaboration and consensus with the ability to assert project management discipline where required, while being a seasoned practitioner in leading project teams through fast and complex projects.
  • Work in an agile manner to onboard data, define ETL business processes, and create and manage a data dictionary and data lineage.
  • Lead a team of data engineers and full‑stack developers.
  • Excel in relationship, stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills, effective at all levels up to senior executives.
  • Efficiently perform management tasks including incident response and escalations, vendor and contract management, infrastructure management, service resiliency, and service ownership.
  • Enjoy the challenges of working on different types of projects (from large complex to simple).
  • Collaborate with various business functions to ensure Wealth Technology meets business needs.

  • Minimum 10+ years in a data engineering‑focused role.
  • Hands‑on technical leadership with proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Expertise in implementing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services such as DataProc, Dataflow, CloudSQL, BigQuery, CloudSpanner in combination with third parties such as Spark, Apache Beam/Composer, DBT, Cloud PubSub, Confluent Kafka, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and GitHub.
  • Experience with data streaming and technologies such as Kafka, Spark‑streaming, etc.
  • Effective programming/query skills and in-depth knowledge of common data manipulation, visualization, and analytical tools (e.g., Python, Java, PowerBI, etc.).
  • Analytical, insights‑driven with the ability to help the organization leverage data‑driven decisions.
  • Strong architecture knowledge with experience in providing technical solutions for cloud infrastructure.
