Employment Opportunity – Ottawa Riverkeeper is seeking a Director of Education & Community Engagement to lead our Education & Outreach teams. Start date flexibile: November 24th, 2025; Starting salary range: 70,000 - 82,000; Hours: 37.5 hrs/week; Application deadline: October 20th, 2025.

Responsibilities / Responsabilités
- Lead Ottawa Riverkeeper’s education and community engagement programs, ensuring development, delivery, and impact toward the organizational mission of protecting the ecological health of the Ottawa River and its tributaries.
- Lead the development of formal and informal education programming, including youth programs, school initiatives, and public engagement activities.
- Represent Ottawa Riverkeeper and foster relationships with schools, educators, community groups, and other stakeholders.
- Support the fundraising team to secure funding for education and engagement programs, help develop grant applications, and ensure timely reporting to funders.
- Contribute to strategic planning to ensure long-term growth and impact as a member of the management team.

- Diriger les programmes d’éducation et d’engagement communautaire, veillant au développement, à la mise en œuvre et à l’impact sur la mission de l’organisation.
- Diriger l’élaboration de programmes d’éducation formels et informels, notamment pour les jeunes, initiatives scolaires et activités d’engagement public.
- Représenter l’organisme et favoriser les relations avec les écoles, les éducateurs, les groupes communautaires et autres partenaires.
- Soutenir l’équipe de collecte de fonds pour obtenir des financements, aider à élaborer les demandes de subventions et assurer les rapports dans les délais.
- Contribuer à la planification stratégique pour la croissance et l’impact à long terme en tant que membre de l’équipe de direction.
Qualifications / Compétences requises
What you bring / Ce que vous apportez
- Demonstrated project and people management skills (supervision of staff or volunteers, managing budgets, reporting).
- A minimum of five years of teaching experience in environmental education (or related discipline), preferably with a Bachelor of Education or a related degree.
- Experience developing, leading, and evaluating educational or outreach programs for diverse learners and participants.
- Des compétences avérées en gestion de projets et de personnes (supervision du personnel ou des bénévoles, gestion de budgets, rapports).
- Au moins cinq ans d’expérience dans l’enseignement de l’éducation environnementale (ou discipline connexe), de préférence avec un baccalauréat en éducation ou diplôme connexe.
- Expérience dans l’élaboration, direction et évaluation de programmes éducatifs destinés à divers apprenants et participants.

- Familiarity with Anishinābeg Algonquin protocols, history, and ways of knowing.
- Bilingual in English and French (oral and written).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Valid First Aid certificate.

- Bilingue anglais/français (oral et écrit).
- Permis de conduire valide et accès à un véhicule.
