Position Overview

Finning Canada is seeking to hire a Digital Specialist responsible for designing, governing, and optimizing digital tools, analytics, and automation that support project transformation. This role enables data‑driven decision‑making, strengthens PQVC performance, reduces economic loss, and streamlines enterprise‑wide operational workflows for both leadership and frontline teams.

Job Description
Digital Enablement & Systems Governance
  • Lead the strategy, design, and governance of project digital tools, including SharePoint ecosystems, Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and cross-functional system integrations.
  • Ensure system standardization, simplification, and decluttering aligned with foundational themes of projects.
  • Maintain data integrity, user experience standards, and governance across EHS, Service Operations, and Technical Training, digital tools.
Analytics & Reporting Infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards, performance scorecards, predictive reporting, and PQVC analytics to support leader decision-making at all levels.
  • Build enterprise-level reporting that supports specific performance management structures.
  • Provide insight into key drivers of people, quality, velocity, cost, and operational risk.
Automation & Digital Workflow Optimization
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities that reduce SG&A, streamline workflows, and enhance operational capacity.
  • Develop and maintain Power Automate flows and digital processes that support project phases including Incident Management, Corrective Actions, Hazard Reporting, Improvement Engine, and SOTJ competency development.
AI Agent Development & Digital Innovation
  • Support project AI roadmap by developing and enabling AI agents for EHS, Service Support, Technical Training, and Technical Communications.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging digital capabilities to enhance operational resilience and predictive analytics.
  • Keep up to date with advancements in Fabric, data modeling best practices, Power BI tooling, AI agent safety, and Azure AI Foundry.
  • Share learnings and propose practical adoption pathways for new capabilities.
Cross-Functional Enablement & Strategic Support
  • Act as a digital subject-matter expert supporting OP-X, EHS, Service Operations, and Technical Training.
  • Translate business requirements into digital solutions that align with project strategy and multi-year transformation roadmap.
  • Provide change enablement, training, and ongoing digital support for leaders and frontline teams.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Reduction
  • Ensure all digital workflows align with Finning’s management system and project standards.
  • Support economic incident reduction through data accuracy, reporting visibility, and systematic process improvements.
  • Maintain documentation, version control, and governance frameworks for digital tools.
Accountability
  • Responsible for support in development and management of project system management aspects and enablement for all elements
  • Accountable for the management and coordination of accurate, comprehensive, and timely pre-qualification information
  • Developing and delivering projects and improvements across Finning Canada
  • Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner and maintain effective relationships with all internal departments, employees, and customers while maintaining confidentiality
  • Accountable for building collaborative and productive working relationships, networks with and appropriately involves key internal and external stakeholders
  • Accountable for providing accurate professional expertise and opinions supporting risk management
  • Responsible to keep up on all legislative and regulatory requirement changes in all jurisdictions
  • Ensure completion of timely and accurate KPI reporting.
  • Monthly KPI reporting to ensure visibility and consistency.
  • Timely upward communication of issues as they arise and monthly overview of current challenges, actions and any key process improvements needed.
  • Represent the company in an ethical and professional manner and maintain confidentiality.
Mandatory (Must-Have) Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics or information systems
  • 5 years experience in analyst type role
  • 5 years of digital enablement experience
  • Full lifecycle exposure (requirements → production) in modeling and/or agent delivery.
  • Practical experience with Copilot/Foundry agents or adjacent LLM systems: grounding/retrieval, tool/action orchestration, and safe design.
  • Excellent computer skills, including data analysis capabilities.
  • Expert in Microsoft Suite (Power Apps, Power BI, Lists, etc.)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with documentation creation and standardization
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
