We are seeking a creative and experienced Digital Marketing Strategist to join our small but mighty team. They will engage in the development of communications strategies and enhance the visibility and quality of our website and social media channels. They will also help to facilitate in-person engagements and develop relationships with the wider non-profit and charitable sector, including current and prospective members, sponsors, funders and other partners, policymakers and other influencers.
This role is ideal for a communications professional with a passion for digital engagement, a drive for learning and progressive professional growth, and interest in working in a highly collaborative and creative team. The Digital Marketing Strategist will report to Canadian Geographic’s Director of Water and Land Relations and work cross-functionally with the entire Biinaagami team.
This is a full-time, one-year contract with a salary range ($60,000-$70,000 per year) commensurate with experience. We are open to a candidate who is very efficient and experienced and is interested in working part-time.
The ideal candidate will be a creative, strategic and organized team player who thrives in today’s fast-paced and competitive media landscape, with a keen sense of how to engage with diverse audiences. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in digital engagement and marketing. Persons with lived Indigenous experience and/or writing from a two-eyed seeing lens will be highly regarded. Experience capturing video and creating content for social media platforms will be an asset. This position will require the successful candidate to travel within the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence watershed and will occasionally involve work outside of regular business hours.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be living anywhere within the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence watershed, with office space available at Canadian Geographic’s headquarters in Ottawa if desired.
Candidates who prefer working from home must have a reliable working space with phone, computer and internet access.
