Job description

Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Diamond Driller 2 to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.

The Diamond Driller 2 is responsible for independently operating a diamond drill and associated equipment at the drill site. Key duties include coring, grouting, relocating the drill, performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs, conducting surveys, and completing other tasks as directed by supervision. This role also involves training and overseeing personnel working at the drill site.

Job Responsibilities
  • Promote a strong safety culture through compliance, PPE use, daily inspections, and active participation in safety meetings and emergency response.
  • Follow all mining regulations, environmental permits, and company policies.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with mine personnel to support efficient operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Safely operate, move, stage, and set up the diamond drill and required rigging in accordance with Foran procedures.
  • Set up and maintain water management systems.
  • Conduct operational checks, preventative maintenance, and repairs on drill components as needed.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot in-hole tooling and down-hole issues with support when required.
  • Train, supervise, and develop Diamond Driller Trainees and Helpers to ensure proper core retrieval and delivery.
  • Perform grouting activities safely.
  • Support continuous improvement in underground drilling activities.
  • Adapt to changing conditions and instructions from supervision.
Job Qualifications and Skills
  • High School Diploma, GED, or vocational training.
  • Minimum 2 years underground experience.
  • Minimum 2 years training as Driller III or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to operate independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • First Aid certification is considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive Hourly Rate: $48.27 - $66/hr which includes a target-based monthly bonus.
