Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst (Catalyst) empowers individuals and organizations to seize the opportunities and tackle the challenges of cybersecurity. The Catalyst is a not-for-profit corporation owned and operated by Toronto Metropolitan University and based in Brampton, ON. Hybrid work schedule with expectations of weekly days in the Brampton / Toronto offices.

The Opportunity

The Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies Content Developer will provide subject matter expertise for the Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst on cybersecurity industry best practices and training and advises on program development and curriculum. The successful candidate will conduct broad industry research and analysis on cybersecurity practices and the intersection of these practices with artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and / or other new and emerging technologies, as well as the intersection and application of these technologies to security requirements. They will design, develop and deliver cybersecurity synchronous and / or asynchronous training, programs, workshops, tabletop exercises and scenarios, tools and resources to targeted learners to enhance skill development, knowledge of cybersecurity practices and to generate business, and create awareness of Catalyst’s cybersecurity expertise and programming. Additionally, the successful candidate will support program administration and evaluation and make recommendations to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities
  • Advises the Director of Corporate Training and Cyber Range and the Executive Director on cybersecurity training offerings and enhancement opportunities. Drawing on cybersecurity expertise, research and a unique understanding of the cyber industry, advises and makes recommendations for product offerings, strategy and priorities for the Catalyst.
  • Designs and develops customized synchronous and / or asynchronous training, including workshops, materials, resources, tabletops, etc. to targeted learners including academic, industry and public sectors to enhance skill development and knowledge on cyber security practices.
  • Acts as expert trainer and subject-matter expert on the delivery of cyber security training workshops and other instructional formats for the Catalyst.
  • Seeks out and sources niche cybersecurity experts / expertise to expand on knowledge and stay current on industry changes which may aid in content development.
  • Conducts broad research to identify emerging knowledge, best practices, and training strategies.
Qualifications

To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications :

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a number of the following areas : content development; applications; designing, developing and delivering instructional training, workshops, scenarios; curriculum design; and research in cybersecurity related fields.
  • Strong technical experience in one or more cybersecurity domains and emerging cybersecurity and technology domains. Topics including but not limited to AI for cybersecurity, IAM, quantum, cybersecurity for defence and cloud security.
  • Experience in instruction and / or training.
  • Experience in content / curriculum development.
  • Experience delivering technical security services as an industry expert is an asset.
  • Completion of advanced certifications such as OSCP, GCIH, CISSP or RHCSA.
  • Expert knowledge of cybersecurity sector and practices with the ability to provide thought leadership, and innovative and creative advice to internal and external clients and Catalyst leadership.
  • Knowledge of content design and development for training targeted to corporate and professional audiences (technical, non-technical).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct needs analyses using a consultative approach, to determine learning objectives and training modalities to achieve knowledge and skill outcomes.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent conceptual thinking and design skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) GSuite, remote communication tools, and project management tools.
