Overview

WestJet is seeking a Crew Scheduler. This individual is able to demonstrate a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment. They will be required to adhere to regulations and communicate with all stakeholders, while ensuring crew requirements are maintained for “day of” operations in a timely and effective manner. This is a 24/7- 365 days per year position involving shift work.

Key deliverables
  • Answer the phone promptly, demonstrating an ability to listen and empathize with crew members while ensuring a high level of internal guest satisfaction
  • Ensure schedule amendments are following Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS), Commercial Air Service Standards (CASS), the Company Operations Manual (COM), the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM)
  • Monitor and mitigate Crew duty and rest violations
  • Ensure implementation of IROP (irregular operations) contingency plans and required pairing modifications
  • Adhere to Flight Operations policies and Inflight Department policies as outlined in the COM, the FAM, the Crew Services Guidelines
  • Ensure appropriate deadheading arrangements are made, confirmed and tracked for crews
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience and qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year airline experience, preferably in an operational role
  • Previous experience with flight crew schedules and CARS is an asset
  • Intermediate experience with SabreSonic, MS Word, Outlook and Excel is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, with the capability of establishing respect and credibility through actions
  • High degree of motivation and commitment to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and ever changing environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take responsibility for accomplishing routine tasks
  • Proven attention to detail, organizational, time management skills, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, while contributing to a fun and friendly atmosphere
