Job summary

A regional government authority in Central Ontario is seeking a Corporate Services Student to assist in various administrative duties related to revenue service and customer communications. The role involves supporting office tasks, coordinating customer service initiatives, and maintaining social media content. Candidates must be enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program, possess excellent customer service skills, and have a Class G2 Driver’s License for possible travel. This contract lasts about 4 months starting April 2026.

Job description
Position Description

This position will perform a variety of duties in the Corporate Services division with specific focus on activities within the Revenue Service (Taxation and Provincial Offences Administration) and Corporate Customer Service and Communications teams.

  • Assist in office administration, research and analysis as required.
  • Assist with the coordination, development and implementation of corporate-wide customer service initiatives to promote and provide quality customer service by providing customer service expertise, guidance, communications and policy and procedure development.
  • Assist with the development and updating of various customer service, marketing, and engagement publications, websites, directories, and listings for both internal and external users.
  • Assist with social media content production, scheduling, and monitoring.
  • Assist with development and sending of e-Newsletters and e-blasts (sent via email) using dedicated software tools.
  • Assist with corporate collection efforts.
  • Undertake and disseminate research and analysis on a variety of special projects for the division.
  • Data entry.
  • Assist with mail processing, courier and printing services.
  • Provide administrative, clerical and general assistance to division/department staff members.
  • Receive payments and issue receipts.
  • Compile statistical information and analysis with respect to department projects, programs and performance measures.
  • Provide front-line customer service at applicable service counters including POA ticket keying and financial services data-entry as required.
  • Provide exceptional customer service on the phone and in person.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a University or College program in Public Administration/Political Science, Business Administration, Accounting, Office Administration or Legal program or related field.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, accept and follow verbal and written instructions, complete duties to an acceptable level of quantity and quality with minimal supervision and follow all of Norfolk County Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Must have Class G2 Driver’s License - as occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively.
Note

Employment is conditional upon: attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation/certification, adherence to the minimum age requirements and ability to meet the employment term. At time of application must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution or institution of higher learning. Applicants must submit a criminal record check (dated within the last 3 months) from their local police service for approval prior to commencing employment.
