Overview
This position is for a Cook to coordinate special events and handle day‑to‑day kitchen operations in various restaurant locations.
Responsibilities
- Co‑ordinate special events.
- Determine the size of food portions and costs.
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for realization.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas.
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking and handling.
- Order supplies and equipment.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
- Clean kitchen and work areas.
- Organise buffets and banquets.
- Manage kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
- Language: English required.
- Personal suitability: Dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organisation, reliability, team player, time management.
- Physical requirements: Attention to detail, fast‑paced environment, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, work under pressure.
