System Engineer

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a trusted multi-service engineering and electronics manufacturing company. Aversan delivers leading-edge and reliable safety-critical electronics and software systems to the aerospace, defence, and space industries.

We are currently seeking a qualified Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be working with a team of Control Systems Engineers to develop detailed software specifications for Environmental Control Systems. Control Systems Design team is currently supporting projects for a variety of customers and applications including commercial, military, and urban air mobility platforms.

Job Type: Full Time

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Responsibilities
  • Design closed-loop control systems for thermal mechanical applications
  • Develop simulation models of ECS and related systems
  • Create and manage hardware and software requirements specifications
  • Conduct hardware, software, and system integration testing
  • Author system verification plans and procedures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration and compliance
  • Provide engineering support at internal and external customer sites
  • Delivery of high-quality results in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Systems Design, Aerospace, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in requirements management and closed-loop control design
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with DOORS or MATLAB
  • Minimum 3–5 years of aerospace industry experience
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermal system controls
  • Proven experience in ECS hardware/software requirement development and integration
  • Familiarity with major aircraft OEM development standards
  • Experience with DFSS/Six Sigma and Integrated Product Development Systems
  • Effective problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong communication, listening, and negotiation abilities
  • Knowledge of DO-178C, DO-331, ARP4754, and ARP4761
  • 5+ years of experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments is an asset
