Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Engineering Technician to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Power Bus Way Team in Mississauga, ON. The Continuous Improvement Engineering Technician focuses on driving safety and continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Revise and update programs to boost productivity and maintain quality standards.
  • Lead the application of lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity, cost, quality, and service.
  • Manage and analyze data to identify problems and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Purchase tooling for both new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with design engineering on product enhancements, especially in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Partner with Set-up Operators to optimize work processes for safety, throughput, and quality.
  • Assist with maintenance service calls for production equipment.
  • Drive year-over-year (YOY) productivity improvements.
  • Use Lean tools to reduce waste and enhance process control.
  • Support 5S initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Co-lead process improvement teams with the Lean Team using LSS methodologies.
  • Assist with Lean training sessions.
  • Manage Traffic Management Plans at Davand and Gana locations – including layouts, signage, and storage areas.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for relocated equipment.
  • Ensure racking is labeled and certified with weight capacities.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

Required

  • Associate’s degree (A.S.) in Engineering Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communication and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes and material specifications.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
