As an IT Audit & Assurance consultant, you can expect a dynamic career full of challenges and opportunities to grow. Every day is different, and you will be continually learning and expanding your skillset. You’ll develop and grow your skills through client engagements, including internal audits, risk assessments, technology audits (such as IT general controls), and third-party assurance (such as SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits).
A typical day might involve meeting with clients to discuss their business and technology processes, identifying risks, and working as part of a team to execute an audit plan that addresses those risks and ensures compliance with audit objectives. You may be involved in fieldwork, including interviewing staff, reviewing documentation, and testing controls. You will use your analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential issues, and you will communicate progress and issues to your team and clients. You may also draft audit findings and discuss issues with management, requiring strong communication skills. You will hone your skills in a collaborative, team-based environment with ongoing coaching and support from more experienced colleagues. Individuals with interest in controls, audit methodologies, business and IT operations, IT risk, analytics and data should apply. While not mandatory, these roles can support earning CPA, CIA, or CISA designation requirements; our CPA program is recognized in all provinces.
Our teams are composed of advisory professionals who help clients navigate business risks and opportunities, embrace complexity, accelerate performance, and gain competitive advantage. IT Audit & Assurance: we seek to elevate trust, integrity, and confidence in Canadian organizations by assuring and advising on IT and emerging technology risks to help our clients achieve regulatory, internal, and extended enterprise requirements and maximize their impact.
