You will be responsible for scheduling updates, maintaining contact lists, and collaborating with a team to enhance community involvement. Ideal candidates will be organized, proactive, and passionate about making a difference, gaining valuable experience while contributing to an important cause.
About Us: Ups and Downs is a registered not‑for‑profit, volunteer‑run organization for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and their support groups. Our vision is to promote lifelong partnerships that foster family connections, friendships, healthy lifestyles, an inclusive community, and a future without limits.
The Communications Coordinator helps keep our members informed and connected by creating and sharing updates about events and programs. You’ll play an important role in making communication clear and engaging, while reflecting Ups and Downs’ mission of inclusion and community. This is a collaborative role—you’ll work with other volunteers like event planners and social media coordinators, and you’ll have the flexibility to bring your own ideas to life.
By volunteering as Communications Coordinator, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in email marketing, digital tools, and team collaboration—all from home. This role helps you build practical skills in organizing, planning, and creative communication, which look great on any resume. You’ll also make a real impact: your work will help families feel connected and supported. Plus, you’ll join a welcoming community, network with passionate volunteers, and develop leadership skills that can open doors for future opportunities.
By taking on the role of Communications Coordinator, you will gain valuable experience in communications management, digital marketing, and team collaboration. This role offers the opportunity to develop strong leadership and organizational skills, which are highly sought‑after in many professional fields. You will also have the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families, fostering a sense of community and inclusion.
