Job description

This posting will be used to fill 1 term full‑time position working 75 bi‑weekly for 1 year. The posting will also be used for an anticipatory full‑time permanent position. It will establish a 6‑month eligibility list that may be used to fill similar positions.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse, Yukon.

Who we are

The Yukon Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre‑hospital care. We provide medical interventions, treatments, and critical care across Yukon, guided by leadership, dedication, and partnership from the moment we receive a call to when we transfer a patient to a health care facility.

Your role

Working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, the Yukon EMS Clinical Educator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering continuing medical education to YEMS staff, including remedial education in specific areas. The educator facilitates scenario‑based learning opportunities and designs and delivers educational components required for the introduction of new equipment, clinical policies, and clinical guidelines.

Conditions of employment

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted: TB screening; RCMP Vulnerable sector check; valid ACP licence or CCP licence from a paramedic governing body in Canada.

Job requirements

Wearing a uniform; work mainly in a classroom or office setting within the Emergency Response Center or Training Centre, but routinely assists at all capacities on emergency calls. May be exposed to encounters with angry public, or to hazardous chemicals and contaminated persons. Training and personal protective equipment are provided.
