Overview
South Lanarkshire Council are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated Technical Officer within Environmental Services who can accept and tackle demanding goals to ensure effective service delivery. Working as part of the Environmental Crime Team specialising in criminal enforcement of Fly Tipping Offences.
Responsibilities
- Undertake complex work specifically in relation to Environmental Crime (Fly Tipping Enforcement), Surveillance and Prosecutions.
Qualifications
- No specific qualification is required; enforcement of criminal legislation (ideally within this area and/or a related area) would be beneficial but not essential.
- Driving licence is required as all areas of the district will require visits.

Contract and Location
- Temporary post for 2 years.
- Location: Brandon Gate, 1 Leechlee Road, Hamilton, ML3 0XB.
Hours and Pattern
Hours: 35 per week. Shift pattern: MTWT with back shift (13:30–21:00) F (08:45–16:00) S (09:00–17:00) Off Sunday. Some flexibility with this indicative pattern in line with Service needs and colleagues availability.
Remuneration
Salary: £41,698 – £43,505 (inclusive of unsociable hours).
