Pursuit Collection – Jasper, AB • $18 an hour • Seasonal, Full-time

Location: Jasper, AB. This job is posted as part of our seasonal hiring for Spring/Summer, 2025.

Overview

What will be your daily pursuit?: Providing our guests with a clean, safe, and welcoming environment to rest and recharge after their adventures.

Compensation and Perks
  • Starting salary: $18.00 per hour.
  • Housing and meals: $19.00 per day (based on double occupancy).

What you will do in this job

As a Host for the Glacier View Lodge, you will be the first point of contact for our global clientele. From assisting guests with their luggage to guiding them on our world-renowned tours on the Athabasca Glacier and Skywalk, you will be with them every step of the way. This role also encompasses all roles at the Glacier View Lodge, so you will be an expert in all of our operational and experiential components. This is a multi-faceted position and can include any, or all, of the following:

  • Delivering exceptional interpretive information to guests from around the world.
  • Providing guests with a personalized experience during their stay in Canada's only glacier facing hotel.
  • Supporting the lodge with Front Desk and Housekeeping duties as required.
  • Bringing guests from the parking lot to the hotel for check-in and handling luggage; handling luggage for GVL Tour Groups.
  • Being proactive with maintenance issues and safety concerns.
  • Attending the Glacier Adventure with the guests to continue their personalized experience.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the hotel daily and engaging with guests throughout their stay.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Charismatic and comfortable speaking to large groups; previous interpretive guiding, hotel front desk, or housekeeping experience is an asset.
  • Ability to stand and work outside in varying mountain weather conditions (snow, rain, wind, hail) for extended periods.
  • Current Alberta Pro Serve Certification (Required).
  • Organization and time management skills; a passion for delivering memorable experiences and making a difference for each guest and employee.
  • Friendly, approachable, interactive nature; ability to think outside the box with quick, thoughtful judgement and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to perform duties with a high level of attention to detail, speed, consistency, follow through and under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds (suitcases, laundry bags and mail).
  • Flexible to work mornings, evenings, split shifts, or nights as required.
  • Meets Pursuit grooming policies and standards.
