ACADEMIC COLORECTAL SURGEON, SINAI HEALTH SYSTEM AND UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO

The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at Sinai Health System (SHS) and the University of the Toronto are currently seeking a full time Academic Colorectal Surgeon to join the Division of General Surgery. The effective date of this appointment is flexible but preferred to be within 6 months of job posting.

The successful candidate will be a member of our Colorectal Surgery Service and the Division of General Surgery at Sinai Health and will have an elective surgical practice focused on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This individual will work closely with our Gastroenterology, Oncology, Anaesthesia and Nursing teams to provide high quality, multidisciplinary care and support the IBD Program. The successful candidate will also provide emergent surgical care as part of the Acute Care Service. The successful candidate will have an academic focus in IBD research that may include clinical, education or quality improvement research. Resources for the position include: 6 OR days/month, ½ day endoscopy/week and 1 clinic day/per week with 1-2 protected days/week for academic activity. Experience in advanced minimally invasive techniques including taTME and robotic training are preferred but not mandatory. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required.

Will be eligible for a cross-appointment at other University of Toronto institutions based on need

Compensation for this position will be in the range of 300-600K. This estimate is based on fee for service billings.
