A leading defense technology company in Calgary is looking for a co-op student for a DevOps Engineering role starting in May 2026. This position lasts 8-16 months and offers exposure to vital software capabilities used in defense operations. Responsibilities include supporting build systems, evaluating software tools, and assisting with automated tests. The ideal candidate is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Hourly compensation ranges from CAD 23.08 to CAD 32.41, with flexible work options.

In this role, students contribute to the development, integration, and sustainment of software and firmware systems that support defence operations. These positions provide hands‑on experience with build systems, automated testing, tooling evaluation, and DevOps practices. Students gain exposure to critical software capabilities used in land operations, including systems deployed on vehicles, command posts, and other operational platforms.
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
The expected hourly rate for this position is $23.08 – $32.41. Final compensation will be determined based on your relevant work experience to date. As part of student placement, you will be eligible for quarterly pay increases.
