Overview

Join Our Team as a CNC Setter Operator Co-Op Student at Johnson Electric! Location: Stratford, ON, Canada (onsite).

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Ensure machines are set up to machine the required parts
  • Install and remove spindle chucks, collets, drawbars, spindle adapters and cutting tools as necessary
  • Index cutting inserts and make size change adjustments to machines as required
  • Load and unload parts on machines to maintain required production levels
  • Chart SPC data as determined by process sheet specifications
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met
  • Other duties as required
What We’re Looking For
Education and/or Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Computer Numerical Control Machining Program Certificate in progress
Qualifications
  • Must have working knowledge of machining principles and practices
  • Familiar with CNC controls and programming techniques
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment; automotive industry experience is an asset
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of conventional machine methods is an asset
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to work well independently or in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
Language Skills
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written)
Work Environment
  • Work indoors; environment can be noisy and may involve extreme temperatures
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 30 lbs
  • Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights or continental
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Able to work overtime when required
