Job Description

The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer will support large‑scale, fault‑tolerant enterprise systems, ensuring RBC’s internal Cloud Platform reliability and maximum uptime. You will work with application teams to promote CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and platform automation, furthering the move away from manual provisioning and improving developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable systems using best practices around automation, pushing changes to improve reliability and velocity.
• Carry out regular cloud operation tasks and provide support for application development teams using cloud resources.
• Provide pre‑launch support through activities such as system design consulting, software platform and framework development, planning and reviews.
• Maintain running services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
• Provide mentorship and training to other team members on technologies and processes, driving education and knowledge transfer of design patterns, technical practices and relevant tools.
• Drive high standards around incident response practices and policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an operational or support role: Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Software Engineering.
• 3+ years deploying apps with Elasticsearch, Kafka on AWS, Azure or private cloud.
• 3+ years developing in Python, Java, NodeJS, .NET Core and deploying to production with change management.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift).
• Experience in monitoring, centralized logging and alerting (Splunk, Dynatrace).
• Knowledge of CI/CD deployment using GitHub Actions, Terraform, Jenkins, etc.
• Python, Bash scripting and use of cloud CLI tools.
• Nice‑to‑have: EKS, AKS, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift, Terraform enterprise, automation of manual processes and tests, ElasticSearch, Kafka, OpenShift Kubernetes environments.
