A government agency in Canada is seeking a Legal Assistant to support Crown Counsel in preparing prosecution case files. The ideal candidate will have a secondary school diploma and a Legal Assistant certificate, with strong organizational and communication skills. This temporary position can offer flexible work arrangements and is expected to last until the end of 2026.
At the Terrace office, you will join an established team of professionals, including Legal Assistants, Senior Legal Analysts, Paralegals and Crown Counsel. This close-knit group promotes public safety, justice, and respect for the rule of law through fair and effective prosecutions and appeals. As a Legal Assistant, you will support Crown Counsel in preparing prosecution case files for court proceedings. Working under the supervision of Crown Counsel and the Office Manager, you will perform a variety of legal services in a high-profile and fast-paced office. Your role requires flexibility, teamwork, tact, diplomacy, communication, and strong organizational skills to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely completion of responsibilities.

This is a temporary opportunity until 12/31/2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
